Cosmetic Dentistry

Will my new smile look fake?

Absolutely not. At Houston Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center we use sophisticated technology and the concept of “Natural Restorations” to create beautiful, natural-looking teeth that complement the look of your face and mimic the textures and shapes seen in real teeth.

Can I see how the cosmetic treatment will change my smile before I start treatment?

Yes! We are a certified Digital Smile Design Clinic which means that not only can you preview your smile through our software, you can actually even try it on through our Test Drive Your Smile initiative in our office. This will allow you to make sure you are happy with how your new smile will look even before you commit to going through treatment.

What are veneers?

A veneer is a very thin sheet of porcelain that is bonded to the front of your tooth to improve the appearance of your smile by altering the shape, color, length and texture of your natural teeth. The tooth and the veneer become one and can last indefinitely as long as they are taken care of properly.

What is a Smile Makeover?

A Smile Makeover combines various dental treatments of your choice to improve the overall look and appearance of your smile. We can use various techniques to target specific areas of your smile that you are looking to improve. Some of these treatments include straightening your teeth, whitening, porcelain veneers, single tooth implants, multi tooth implants, and white fillings as well as shape adjustments through DSD Lite Dentistry.

Will having a Smile Makeover harm my own natural teeth?

We truly believe in and practice conservative dentistry. This means that we will do everything possible to be as minimally invasive as we can and preserve as much of your natural teeth as possible.

What is Digital Smile Design?

Digital Smile Design is an innovative concept and way of doing dentistry that makes results even better for our patients. With Digital Smile Design, we use advanced dental technology to precisely plan all of our treatments and even show you a preview of your results before treatment begins. This technology allows us to design beautiful, healthy smiles that radiate with confidence and are in harmony with your facial features.

Dental Implants

How can I replace a missing tooth?

With one of our dental implants. An implant consists of two parts: the small titanium post which is inserted into your jaw and the crown, which is the tooth part that is attached to the top and shows. Dental implants can be used to replace one missing tooth or multiple and have a variety of benefits. For example, they are long lasting, look natural, are strong, allow you to eat normally, and prevent you from having future problems such as bone loss in your jaw or movement of other teeth.

Will dental implants look fake?

Absolutely not. We design your dental implants and soft tissue using Digital Smile Design in tandem with digital software to create the most natural-looking crowns, bridges and rows of multiple teeth.

Will dental implants damage my natural teeth?

The dental implant will sit next to your natural teeth. It is not attached to nor will it cause any damage to neighboring teeth.

Are dental implants a permanent solution?

Dental implants have an excellent rate of long-term success. That being said, it is critical that you take very good care of the implant once it is fitted by maintaining excellent oral hygiene and attending all scheduled, regular appointments with your dentist.

Is it too late to replace my missing teeth?

It is never too late and you are never too old to get dental implants. If you have left your missing tooth for a long time there may be more treatments required before fitting a tooth, but we will walk through those options together.

Will it hurt?

No, it will not. We use local and IV anesthesia to numb the part of your mouth that we will be working on. Thanks to our use of guided surgery the procedure is fast and accurate as well as minimally invasive.
